Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band consists of students in the 7th and 8th grades. Students obtain membership in this yearlong course following a placement audition with the band directors. The Symphonic Band gives many performances each year including Fall, Winter, Mid-Term and Spring Concerts, UIL Contest, Picnic in the Park, and a Spring Trip. Members of the Symphonic Band are expected to participate in Solo and Ensemble Contests and are encouraged to audition for the All-Region Band. Students in the Symphonic Band achieve high standards in the classroom and performance venues.
The Symphonic Band has earned 8 UIL Sweepstakes Awards and has earned several honors at regional and state festivals. The Symphonic Band has given performances at TCU, UNT (Murchison Performing Arts Center), TLU, Fort Hood, the Texas State Capitol, and The Alamo.
Ms. Jacqueline Ruddick is the primary director of the Symphonic Band.

Fall Special OPS
- Open Practice Sessions (OPS) are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays before and after school.
- Symphonic Band members must attend one OPS each week.
- They should sign in upon entering.
- Morning OPS are 7:00-7:45 am
- After School OPS are 3:50-4:35
