Recordings
Tempos are suggestions. Do your best to go with the stated tempo. However, if you will give a better performance at a slower tempo, choose a slower tempo.
You MUST use a metronome while recording! The metronome MUST be audible while you perform. You need to figure this out before you record.
Test all your recording equipment before you try to record for submission. There should be no excuses.
Try recording away from the device. If you are too close to the microphone, you will most likely sound distorted. Again, test all equipment before you record for your submission.
Phones will most likely provide the best quality recording.

Tips and Reminders
- PRACTICE! There is no use in submitting a recording if you have not practiced the material. Just like choosing not to study for a test, failing to practice will not be happy for anyone. Set yourself up for success!
- Make sure your recording equipment works before you choose to record. If you wait until the last minute, you may not have time to fix any problems.
- When you are ready to record, have all your necessary supplies: metronome, instrument, reeds, music, etc. Be prepared!
A few final reminders:
- Practice!
- Don’t wait until the last minute to record.
- Use a metronome during recording (set it to the assigned tempo).
- Submit your best recording.
